Beat Prison Breakout VR

Beat Prison Breakout VR lets you live out a fantasy of a jailbreak with a twist - the enemies move to the beat of the music!

Defeat enemies, advance through the prison, and groove to the beat in this grid-based rhythm action game.

This is an early (very short) prototype looking for feedback. It is unrefined and the visual style is as-of-yet undecided - placeholder art is being used.  If you like the project so far, let me know what you think and drop some feedback for me. It will help me and Beat Prison to grow and become better.

Controls:

Grip Button - Grab

Trigger - Grav Grab: Hold, aim, and release to pull objects toward you from afar, after which you can grab them

Touchpad - Click in a direction to move in that direction on the grid according to the direction you are looking: you can only move on the grid forward, back, left, and right

Trigger while holding a gun - Shoot

Combat Instructions:

Enemies can be defeated by being shot or being hit with a held item. Deplete their health fully to defeat them. If you swing at an enemy, make sure your swing is wide or your hit will just glance off and do nothing to them.

Enemies can damage you by moving into you. Lose all your health and get sent to the beginning.

Scoring:

Get points in a run by damaging and defeating enemies. Highest ever score is tracked in the lobby.

Combo System: 

As you shoot your gun and melee enemies accurately on the beat, you will build up a combo. When your combo level increases, your hands will start to emit particles to show you are doing more damage and earning more points. If you perform an action off-beat, take damage, or do not move or act for too long, your combo will drop back to base level.

Note on colored guns:

Gold revolvers and Red revolvers take you to another level or the menu. Shoot them to activate!

Game Modes:

In all game modes, you have until the song ends to complete the level. If you fail to do so, you will move along to the next level with one less health.

Shoot the gold revolver over the "Learn" pedestal to enter the tutorial, teaching some basics of gameplay.

Shoot the red revolver over the "Play" pedestal to enter the main mode where you go through a premade prison to escape and get high scores.

Shoot the red revolver over the "Random Mode" pedestal to enter the experimental procedurally generated prison. Find the enemy holding the red revolver and defeat them to move on to the next level. Try to aim for a high score!
